It is important that all safety and health issues be addressed and corrected to ensure that each member’s workplace is as safe and healthy as possible.
While it may seem that the hazards of retail are vastly different from the hazards of health care or food processing, there are many common safety and health issues.
There are also vast differences that each industry faces. Nursing home employees are at risk of being stuck by needles or injured by patients.
Retail and grocery workers face a great risk of violence and abuse from customers.
Food Process and Meat Packing members work around dangerous equipment and in hazardous conditions.
The UFCW OSH Office is available to provide safety and health training, perform site visits, and as a valuable resource for any safety and health related inquiry.
The Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Office is committed to keeping our members safe and ensure they know their rights under the OSHA Act.
Various trainings are available and customizable for the attendees.
